Puppies and PDSA

Yesterday we had the PDSA visit and talk to the children, to tie in with this Mr and Mrs Stanbrook visited with their 3 border collie puppies. The children enjoyed meeting the pups and we raised over £80 for the PDSA charity.

New Age kurling

We once again welcomed Mrs Salmon from Harrow Way to run our intra-school New Age Kurling competition. The competition was run over 2 weeks and every child in the school took part and worked hard to win points for their team.

The overall winners were spartan team, so congratulations to them.

Here are some pictures from today’s competition.

Flowering plants

The children have been working hard to learn lots of new information about flowering plants.

They enjoyed dissecting a flower and investigating the role that each part plays in pollination.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to a new term and a new year!

This term our topic is Appleshaw. We will be linking Science, Geography and History work to this topic.

In Science we are learning about flowering plants, Geography we are learning about maps (local and the UK) and uses of land and we will look at the history of Appleshaw village.

We are hoping to go on lots of village walks and to visit Randall Parker foods and local farms.

If you have any links to the village or know anyone that would like to come and talk to the children about the village then please get in contact.

Thank you for your support and happy new year.
